An intensive, four-week immersion course in Spanish language and culture. This course is designed for students who have completed their Spanish language requirement and wish to improve their fluency and accuracy in spoken and written Spanish. By examining in detail the work of Spanish artists and current social and political issues, the course also seeks to enable students to understand and interpret Spanish culture and society.

An intensive, full immersion course in Spanish language and Argentine history, culture, and art. Students develop advanced language skills while studying language in context, through the exploration of the city of Buenos Aires, its architecture, museums, and cultural and political life. Through a variety of materials, including short stories, films, journalistic pieces, blogs, guided visits, and a trip to the province of Salta in northwestern Argentina, students engage in critical discussions on cultural meanings and social relations.

This course aims to develop a cultural and situated knowledge of contemporary Spain and its history. To this end, the course will cover literature, art, sociology, and politics, among others, from a critical and multidisciplinary perspective. The topics of the class will be approached both through the reading of materials and through practical activities in Toledo and the other locations visited.

This course studies the role of culture in Argentina's modernity and the social, literary, and artistic traditions it produced from 1810 to the present. The course is divided into 5 units, each of them organized around an artist, a filmmaker, a writer, or an art form. Topics include gaucho culture and national identity, the birth of tango, the artistic avant-gardes, the politics of memory, commodity culture, and gender and environmental politics. In addition to class discussions, the course includes class visits by local scholars and artists.
