A theme pervasive to all chemistry courses is how macroscopic observations can be explained by the microscopic behavior of atoms and molecules. This course explores this topic with the general question: Why is it so important to know the 3D shape of molecules? The content of this course is explored in two parts. The first is the development of core concepts and key theories behind understanding the 3D shape of molecules. The second part of the course explores fundamental questions current scholars deal with across multiple disciplines through a series of seminars and class discussions.
