This policy workshop engages two of the defining phenomena of the 21st century: rapid urbanization and climate change. Both present enormous challenges to policymakers from the global to the local urban scale, particularly those located in developing countries. The relationship between cities and the environment is complex cities, as engines of economic growth, contribute to worsening climate outcomes through the exploitation of natural resources and industrial production. The policy workshop focuses on urban climate policy, with a primary interest in bolstering adaptation, resilience, and finance initiatives.
