Introducing the study of political institutions as levers of conflict management in ethnically plural, post-conflict national states. Our attention will be focused on ongoing and historical cases of constitutional design. These states will be analyzed in terms of their paths toward democracy, the nature of their internal conflict, and the types of political institutions they have (or are adopting).
