Topics in Algebraic Geometry: Arithmetic Algebraic Geometry

Etale cohomology can be applied to concrete problems in number theory and beyond. For these applications, it is often important to bound the dimension of cohomology groups. I will discuss existing approaches to this problem as well as some new ideas.
