Introduction to Augustan Literature

A Latin reading course in prose and poetry of the Augustan period. The chief course objectives are (1) to develop an ability to read and appreciate Latin literature; (2) to become familiar with some of the literary themes of this period; and (3) to learn about the social and cultural world of Augustan Rome.
