Info tab content
This is a jazz studies course that uses jazz performance as a vehicle for creating themed compositions in various jazz idiom styles. Students will develop a `jazz vocabulary' to enable effective works between musicians (e.g. - harmony including chords and scales, melody and rhythmic structure). Student assignments for the early part of the week will be skill and knowledge-based exercises, with the latter part of the week assignments focusing on composition.
