Policy Workshop: Climate Adaptation and the Coasts: Managed Transition

We look also at examples of natural hazards mitigation programs for extreme winds and earthquakes as possible models. Is it best to effect transition and transformation by using financial incentives or regulations and if both what is the best combination? Clearly the right approach allows for a staged transition from status quo to better and the challenge is to find the right approach to achieve this. We engage with existing contacts and actors in this work including committees of the US Congress, federal and local agencies and NGOs.
