A four-week summer intensive language course, conducted online via Zoom. This course focuses on readings and discussions from Chinese scholarly journals, essays, and newspaper articles. Students are exposed to a variety of modern Chinese literary genres, as well as some of the major substantive issues that modern Chinese intellectuals have faced. Admission by application. Prerequisites: CHI 303-304, 305-306, or equivalent. The course consists of five two-hour synchronous classes and five one-hour individual tutorial sessions weekly.
