Workshop on writing research proposals, especially for submission to funding agencies and/or departmental committees. Open to students in areas of quantitative research, including science, engineering, and social science. Topics include getting started, motivating research questions, developing specific aims, reviewing published research literature rigorously, justifying resources and budgets, revising effectively, giving and receiving feedback as well as academic integrity. Prerequisites: International graduate students may enroll only after completing WRI 501 or with permission of instructor.
