A Veterans Day observance is planned for 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, in the Princeton University Chapel. The service, which is free and open to the public, will also be livestreamed on the Office of Religious Life YouTube channel.

Remarks will be delivered by Capt. Kelley T. Jones, who is the U.S. Navy’s 2023 Arthur S. Moreau Scholar at Princeton University, working on her Ph.D. in security studies.

The program will include an invocation by the Rev. Theresa Thames, the University’s dean of religious life and of the chapel. Kenneth Grayson, supervisor in the University electric shop, will sing the national anthem and "America the Beautiful." Dr. Mary Rorro, psychiatrist for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, will sing an original composition, and a trumpeter will play taps.

Mayor Mark Freda of Princeton and Roger Williams of The Spirit of Princeton are scheduled to give welcome remarks. The benediction will be offered by Khalil Abdullah, Princeton’s assistant dean for Muslim life.

The event is sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Campus Life, the Office of Religious Life, Human Resources, the Office of Community and Regional Affairs, The Spirit of Princeton, the Princeton University Army ROTC, the Rutgers-Princeton University Naval ROTC and Air Force ROTC, Alumni and Friends of Princeton University ROTC, the Princeton Veterans Alumni Association, the Military and Service Veterans Resource Group and the Princeton Student Veterans Alliance.
