On Thursday, February 6, starting at 6:00 a.m., the Office of Information Technology will update a certificate which is used to authenticate users on the eduroam wireless network.

What is happening?

The existing certificate is set to expire on February 6, an annually recurring event. Devices that have previously connected to eduroam on Princeton's campus may prompt users to manually approve or trust the new certificate before reconnecting.

What you need to do

If you use eduroam on a wireless device, you may be prompted to accept a new certificate beginning Thursday, February 6. Devices will not connect to eduroam until this is completed. View step-by-step instructions.

  • Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android devices may be prompted to trust the new certificate as described in KB0013449.
  • Windows 10 devices that are configured with a wireless profile that trusts the eduroam Root Certificate, will not be prompted to trust the new certificate and therefore will remain connected. Please check and reconfigure accordingly.
  • If you need further assistance configuring eduroam on your device or to configure certificate trust, please refer to KB0010255
