Tania Althoff, project manager for design and construction in the Office of Capital Projects, has been elected as the 2025 president of the Central New Jersey section of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The membership group serves architects from Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties and is the largest section in New Jersey. The organization’s goal is to “promote architecture and design through education, community engagement, public outreach, advocacy, member services, and professional excellence.”

The President-Elect is a key member of the Executive Committee which plans educational events, speakers, and tours in support of the architectural profession, while also engaging with AIA National to represent the profession’s voices to the larger public. Althoff will serve as President-Elect for one year and begin her term as President in 2025.

The 2024 guiding theme for the organization is Legacy and Uplift. “As a member of the Executive Board, my goal this year and next is to share the unique architectural attributes of our campus with the wider design and planning community, while gaining leadership experience representing local design professionals,” Althoff said. “Since active mentorship and uplift of the next generation is also important to me, I serve on the state-level AIANJ Mentorship Committee where we have created a rotating mentorship program for emerging professionals. I am honored to volunteer and serve in AIA leadership, where we help elevate our members and promote the integrity of our profession to the broader public.”

On February 21st, there will be a board installation dinner and continuing education event in Bridgewater, NJ. See photos from the event below.

Congratulations to Tania on this professional achievement! Thank you for your service to Princeton and the larger New Jersey architectural community.
