The Anchor House Foundation Ride for Runaways is an annual 500-mile, one-week cycling challenge. Founded in 1979, the fundraising event supports Anchor House, Inc., a multi-service charitable agency in Trenton, NJ, for abused, runaway and homeless youth and young adults.
This year, three Facilities staff participated in the ride. Laura Carlson (OCP), Karen Fanning (OVP), and Keith Stickles (Operations). Stickles, pictured below, celebrated his fifth year completing the ride. Carlson is the co-chair and helps lead the coordination of the ride.
This year’s ride was the 46th annual event. It began in Harrisonburg, VA, on July 13, and concluded in Trenton, NJ, on July 20. Cyclists average 70 miles a day to cover the distance.
