Board approves 5 new faculty appointments
The Princeton University Board of Trustees has approved the appointment of five new assistant professors to the faculty.
A. Sylvia Biscoveanu, in physics, joins the faculty in September 2025. Biscoveanu, who specializes in gravitational-wave data analysis and black holes, holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. and B.A. from Pennsylvania State University.
Michelle H. DiBenedetto, in mechanical and aerospace engineering, joins the faculty in January 2025. DiBenedetto, who specializes in environmental fluid mechanics and particle-laden flows, comes to Princeton from the University of Washington, where she has been an assistant professor since 2021. She holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University and a B.S. from Cornell University.
Bernard Kim, in ecology and evolutionary biology, joins the faculty in January 2025. Kim specializes in biology and holds a Ph.D. and B.S. from the University of California-Los Angeles.
Henry Lin, in physics, joins the faculty in January 2026. Lin specializes in theoretical physics and holds a Ph.D. from Princeton and an A.B. from Harvard University.
Jamie Wong, in anthropology and the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies, joins the faculty in September 2025. Wong, who specializes in science and technology studies, has a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.S. and M.Phil. from the University of Oxford, and a B.A. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
